Qualifying materials may be required to: Verify that the company is an editorial/media body that covers the SEMA industry, its members, or its products, and Verify that the applicant is associated with the company. Prior year's approval does not automatically qualify an individual for media credentials and updated qualifying materials may be required. Public relations and marketing personnel representing manufacturers do not qualify for media credentials, nor do video production companies representing exhibitors or those that solicit and charge companies to be covered. NAVIGATING THE SHOW NAVIGATING THE SHOW Show floor access: At the SEMA Show, credentialed media have access to the Show floor during show hours and a half-hour early on all four days of the SEMA Show (Tuesday, Nov. 2-Friday, Nov. 5). Exhibiting media receive "Exhibiting Media" badges, providing them with access to the Show floor during exhibitor move-in and move-out hours as well. Press Conference and Media Events The official press conference schedule features breaking news and announcements during the Show. The schedule is set up to make it easy for media to navigate from one press conference to the next. A number of options are available for obtaining new product information. One of the easiest ways is to visit the New Products Showcase at the SEMA Show. At the New Products Showcase, buyers and media have the opportunity to check out a scanner to select the products they are interested in learning more about. You will be able to receive a printout and an e-mail that includes detailed information about the products you selected, as well as links to high-res photos of your scanned products that can be downloaded quickly and easily. What is appropriate attire when attending the SEMA Show? The SEMA Show is a business-to-business trade show. Attendees, exhibitors, and media must wear appropriate apparel at all times. Business or business casual attire is suggested. Logos and sayings on apparel must be in good taste. Show management reserves the right to make determinations on appropriate apparel. May I bring my child to the show? No one under the age of 16, including infants, is allowed access to the exhibits -- no exceptions. Show management does not provide childcare services on-site. The use of a school-issued ID to prove age is not acceptable unless it provides a date of birth. Are there exhibits at the Westgate Hotel? Yes. Your badge allows you entrance into the Westgate exhibits as well. Are Drones/Unmanned Aerial Vehicles allowed at the SEMA Show? Fireworks, firearms, explosives, and weapons of all kinds are prohibited in all premises of the AAPEX and the SEMA Shows. This prohibition applies to interior and exterior Show facilities, including parking areas and also prohibits weapons in or on any vehicles or displays. Violations of this policy can result in the violator being banned from the Shows and Show facilities. What happens when my badge is scanned at the Show? When Show Management* scans your badge, your personal information is processed pursuant to Show Management's legitimate interest in tracking attendance, traffic flow, and providing a better Show for attendees. By allowing vendors/exhibitors to scan your badge, all registration information you provided to Show Management during the registration process is shared with them. Vendors/exhibitors may then contact you regarding their goods or services. Please review their privacy policies for additional information. If you do not want to share your information, do not permit the vendor/exhibitor to scan your badge. No. Those who register and are approved in advance will need to present a photo ID to pick up their media credentials. You are not allowed to pick up credentials for colleagues. What if I did not register or get approved in advance to attend as media? Can I still attend the Show? Yes. You can register on-site in the Media Center; however, while all qualified media will be approved, questionable applicants' risk being denied and may not be approved onsite at the SEMA Show. We recommend you register in advance to expedite the process and ensure that you do qualify. To register on-site, bring qualifying materials to be approved for credentials as well as a photo ID. What access will my media credentials give me to the Show floor? Media credentials allow the badge holder to access the SEMA Show floor a half hour before Show floor hours each day. Media from companies that are also exhibiting will receive "Exhibiting Media" badge holders and are allowed the same access as exhibitors -- access onto the Show floor two hours before regular show hours. When do I have to wear my badge? Badges must be worn at all times in the AAPEX and the SEMA Show areas. Can I give my badge to a friend? No. Badges CANNOT be reproduced, transferred, or resold. All AAPEX and SEMA Show attendees and exhibiting personnel must be prepared to provide a matching government-issued photo ID upon request. Show management reserves the right to refuse admission and revoke your badge at any time. If it is discovered you are allowing someone else to use your badge, that person will be escorted from the Show floor and both of you may not be allowed to attend a future Show.
