Hunter Engineering reveals benefits of performing in-house collision repair alignments at the 2018 SEMA Show

LAS VEGAS - Hunter Engineering Company® will emphasize the benefits of in-house collision repair alignments at the 2018 SEMA Show, Oct. 30 – Nov. 2. Live demonstrations will take place in South Hall, Booth #41013.
By performing collision repair alignments in-house, shops can increase profits, maintain quality of alignments, and eliminate unnecessary transport and wait time.

Compatible with most frame racks, Hunter’s turnplate kit includes four turnplates, ramps, wheel chocks and a wheeled cart that provides easy mobility and compact storage. The portable kit can be used with two-post lifts or on a flat floor; enabling shops to align vehicles that may be too large or long to fit existing alignment lifts.

In addition, service providers can perform Suspension Body Dimension Audits to identify components affected in an accident, including axle setback and offset, wheelbase, trackwidth, ride height, max steer, symmetry and more.

LAS VEGAS - Hunter Engineering Company® will showcase its next-generation drive over tire tread depth measuring tool, Quick Tread EdgeTM, at the 2018 SEMA Show, Oct. 30 – Nov. 2 (South Hall, Booth #41013).

Quick Tread EdgeTM delivers detailed tire condition diagnosis in less time and with added edge wear detection, provides a greater analysis of overall tire condition. Service providers can now better identify tire wear on the ‘edge’ of every tire, while providing customers with informative, in-depth inspection results.

“When a vehicle is moving, a worn edge is actually in contact with the road and cannot shed water during wet conditions, resulting in a loss of traction,” noted Hunter product manager, Alex Smith. “A worn inner-edge may be invisible to advisors on the service drive, making automatic edge wear detection a critical piece in providing a complete summary of a tire’s overall tread depth.”

LAS VEGAS - Hunter Engineering Company® will showcase its new unmanned alignment inspection system, Quick Check DriveTM at the 2018 SEMA Show, Oct. 30 – Nov. 2 (South Hall, Booth #41013).

Released in July 2018, Quick Check DriveTM is Hunter’s latest inspection technology that provides instantaneous alignment readings and requires no human involvement.

Quick Check DriveTM is an innovative leap from the original Quick Check®, Hunter’s vehicle inspection system that was released in 2011.

Each Quick Check DriveTM is equipped with eight cameras and 32 laser sensors that scan a vehicle’s tires as they drive past, eliminating operator labor and stopping of the vehicle; meaning no service drive back-up and making it possible to check every car that visits your shop.

The system can scan a vehicle every 3-5 seconds, measuring total toe and camber autonomously and providing unmatched accuracy on every vehicle it inspects.

He will have just two minutes to pitch his new specialty tool to a panel of five automotive industry leaders in the competition being held in Las Vegas on Monday, October 29th, 2018.

Owens’s idea for the tool, which lets you to drain oil from an oil filter before removing it, came as a result of a dirty, hot summer job at a local car dealership’s service department. He carried that concept and experience with him while earning a BS in mechanical engineering and a MBA degree, both from Clemson University. He entered the idea in the Launchpad competition at the suggestion of his friends in his cohort and his MBA professors.
