AkzoNobel's Wanda Waterbase Celebrates Expanded Growth during SEMA 2012 - Booth #24649

VOC-compliant system gains new fans along the US West Coast

NORCROSS, GA – October 30, 2012 – Following the successful launch of the Wanda Waterbase refinish system into the US collision repair market in mid-2011, AkzoNobel will celebrate the Low-VOC system’s expanded distribution and market share along the US West Coast and other regulated regions during SEMA 2012, October 30 through November 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.

Show attendees are invited to drop by the Wanda Refinish booth #24649 located in the Racing & Performance area of the Central Hall to see first-hand how Wanda Waterbase measures performance in three exciting ways:

Simplicity – Easy-to-use, simple mixing ratios, and compact system – fewer products needed to achieve a “right-the-first-time” finish

Color – Segment-leading color documentation and exceptional color match accuracy

Value – Affordable price point, streamlined approach, and fantastic performance means you’ll save both time and money

“It has been extremely gratifying to see the continued excitement and expanded growth of the Wanda brand in North America, and the recently launched Wanda Waterbase system has the same great momentum,” said Mark Rapson, AkzoNobel’s Business Manager of Trade Brands, North America. “AkzoNobel designed the VOC-compliant system around the simplicity, color, and value brand proposition in order to eliminate the complexity associated with many waterborne systems, while at the same time providing segment-leading color match accuracy and application ease. That unique combination offers an unbeatable value most body shops just can’t pass up.”

As an additional benefit to visiting the booth, Wanda Refinish will offer a free t-shirt to the first 150 visitors to the exhibit. SEMA attendees can go to www.wandarefinish.us/sema2012.aspx to sign up, and then simply show an ID at the booth to verify registration before collecting their new shirt.

The exhibit will also feature two retro concept cars upgraded with modern-day improvements. The vehicles will showcase both Wanda Waterbase and solvent basecoat finishes and styling effects:

•Lingenfelter Performance Engineering’s retro-style C6 LZ06 Karl’s Kustoms-Corvette painted in Wanda’s Retro Red with Black accents

•1947 Street Rodder Chevy Pickup painted two-tone, with the main cab painted in Wanda’s Vanilla under Low-Gloss Performance Clear, and fenders in Apple Red

The Wanda brand spokeswoman will also be on hand to greet visitors, sign autographs, and share the many features and benefits of using Wanda brand products.
