Newly acquired Pop & Lock LLC launches new products and looks to expand globally

Green Bay, WI – October 8, 2012 - - - Pop & Lock LLC was acquired by VSI, LLC on October 31st, 2011 and has had a successful first year by launching several new products at this year’s SEMA show.

Pop & Lock provides tailgate security products for the light-duty truck market. The company manufactures locks that cover more than 200 truck models. Locks are manufactured for truck models that may not have a locking tailgate and new products are designed to work with both truck caps and tonneau covers. Pop & Lock’s products not only protect the vehicle contents but tailgate theft as well.

“We purchased a well-established business that allows both organizations to benefit through the sharing of best practices across complimentary industries. VSI’s success has been based on proven service and quality standards that we are applying to Pop & Lock,” states Jeff Pierquet, Business Manager of Pop & Lock.

VSI, LLC, is the largest producer of automotive grade lock-sets for the North American Heavy Truck market. VSI designs, produces and sells locks to all major domestic truck manufacturers and their international affiliates for production and aftermarket. Additionally, it supports truck fleets and manufacturers with an array of security products aimed at protecting their vehicles. VSI follows AIAG guidelines including APQP to ensure quality, customer satisfaction, and on-time delivery and is ISO/TS 16949 certified.

“Through this acquisition, we have placed a heavy focus on marketing, sales, delivery standards and quality control,” Pierquet explains. “Our goal is to ship every order the same day or within a 24-hour period."

Pop & Lock is heavily engaged in research and design introducing several new products at this year’s SEMA show including powered truck cap and tonneau cover locks, powered and manual tailgate locks for the Honda Ridgeline, and tailgate locks for emerging international platforms. Pop & Lock had 20 percent of sales into Canada and 80% of sales into the United States during the last year. “We have plans to expand internationally with a focus in Europe, Central and South America and Australia.” Pierquet said.
