Create an in-house technician development program — RD12

It is no secret that in the collision repair market place today finding skilled technicians has become increasingly difficult. It is no longer an option to just grab another person when one of your existing technicians does not work out the way you had hoped. Embrace the idea that you can control your current and future labor resource needs by creating your own self developing workforce. Take the first step in becoming an employer of choice by creating a transparent internal self-directed development plan and define the career path for all production technicians regardless of their individual level of proficiency when they enter your organization.
   Topics will include:
1. See past your current technical needs to continually replenish the right Production team
a. What skills are needed in your facility?
b. Understanding of the positions and building of your team
c. Matching of the right skill set to the right job
2. What does a technician self-directed development plan look like?
a. Candidate selection criteria
b. Defining the skills and capabilities required
c. Documenting a career path
d. Example of a development plan
3. Training logistics considerations
