RD20 -  Thorough Estimate Techniques for Special Finishes

Presented by: John Niechwiadowicz, QLC Inc on behalf of BASF

Automotive manufacturers continue to introduce special finishes to make vehicles stand out to the consumer; highly saturated colors, liquid metals, matte finishes, Limited Edition colors, tri-coats, quad-coats, and more.  Are you setting the proper expectations and capturing all the applicable operations regarding the necessary repair processes for these finishes?  We will discuss refinish processes and considerations when planning the estimate to ensure that you are setting accurate expectations for the vehicle owner, the insurer and your technicians to ensure that vehicles are refinished to pre-accident condition resulting in a positive experience for all parties.
Three outcomes an attendee will experience after participating:

1. Estimators, owners and technicians will have a better understanding of planning the estimating process and how to explain the refinish process.
2. Understanding of the additional steps and preparation required to ensure proper refinish repair that returns the vehicle to pre-accident condition.
3. How to create realistic customer expectations and positive customer experiences by explaining the refinish process and your concern with returning their vehicle pre-accident condition.
