DEI Introduces Heat Shroud™

Avon Lake, Ohio…Design Engineering Inc. (DEI), specialists in heat and sound control, now offers a new convenient way to protect fuel lines, wires, cables and hoses from excessive direct or radiant heat. DEI’s Heat Shroud™ is made with a high-temp glass fiber fabric bonded to aluminized material that reflects 90% of radiant heat, and direct heat up to 500° F. A hook and loop closure design makes this a simple and easy installation. Now only remove or disconnect one end to install. This time saving convenience makes it possible to get a secure thermal protection barrier without compromising performance or safety; especially important for grassroots or professional motorsports.

Extremely pliable and fireproof, DEI’s Heat Shroud fits inside diameters ranging from ½” to 2-1/2”. In addition to its heat reflecting properties, DEI’s Heat Shroud also provides additional protection against oil, dirt and abrasion and can be trimmed to length.

Boom Mat Introduces XL Damping Material - Thicker Damping for Extreme Noise Control

Avon Lake, OH…Boom Mat, the automotive leader for acoustic control, now offers a new premium damping material that is 166% thicker than standard damping products. The XL version is an industry-leading 4mm thick. For unwanted noise in trucks, classics, street rods, modified street performance vehicles and stereo competition vehicles, Boom Mat’s XL is the most effective product for eliminating unwanted vibration, engine and road noise.

Constructed with a 4 mil aluminum panel-stiffening skin with an odorless, 4mm thick butyl noise constraining layer, Boom Mat XL traps unwanted noise while requiring less overall material to get the job done. With the thicker 4mm, only 25 to 50% coverage is required which reduces weight, installation time and material cost.

DEI Introduces New Larger ID Titanium™ Protect-A-Sleeve™

Avon Lake, OH…DEI’s Titanium™ Protect-A-Sleeve™ with LR Technology™ provides the best possible protection of wires, lines and cables of any sleeve available on the market. Design Engineering now offers this same Titanium sleeving in sizes large enough for radiator and heater hoses; providing the ultimate protection from heat and fluids.

Last year, DEI introduced the ½” ID Titanium Protect-A-Sleeve to fit larger diameter spark plug wires for added protection against extreme heat generated by hot exhaust manifolds and headers. Now, this same level of protection is available in new 1” and 2” IDs that will snugly fit most radiator and heater hoses. Four new part numbers are now available: 2” ID x 36” (#010482), 1” ID x 48” (#010483), as well as bulk lengths: 2” ID sold by the foot (#010482B) and 1” ID sold by the foot (#101483B).

DEI Introduces Corvette EGR Pipe Heat Shield

Avon Lake, Ohio…Insulating Corvette EGR valve pipes not only helps reduce heat radiating from the pipe, but also helps to keep exhaust gas temperatures higher as it is being reintroduced into the intake. Cancer Survivor Teams Up With WELD to Race Against NASCAR Superstars

Kansas City, Mo. – Kyle Robinson, a 16-year old cancer survivor from central Iowa, will take part in the third-annual WELD Racing Go-Kart Spectacular at the 2015 FVP Knoxville (Iowa) Nationals August 12, 2015. As a sponsor of the event, WELD earned two seats in the race and elected to provide one of the “seats” in the event to Robinson. The other WELD seat will be auctioned off at the event to help support the cause.

Robinson was diagnosed in March 2000 with a Wilms tumor in his kidney. He has been cancer free for 12 years and is a leader in training at Camp Heart Connection, a camp for children with cancer and their siblings. The camp is sponsored by Des Moines-based Children’s Cancer Connection, a charity established in 1988 to provide programs and services to children battling childhood cancer.

Ny-Trex™ Introduces Remote Cord Push Button Switch

Avon Lake, OH…Ny-Trex™, the nitrous brand of Design Engineering, Inc. (DEI), now offers a Remote Cord Push Button Switch that works with any Ny-Trex nitrous system including: Bare Bones™, Triple Threat™, Big-Diesel™, or Prime Time™ purge kit. Developed for multiple applications, it also works with all of DEI’s CryO2 branded products—Purge Valve, Fuel Chiller or Intercooler Sprayer Kit. This versatile switch is universal in design allowing it to be used with most nitrous, purge or intercooler systems on the market today. As an auxiliary switch it can be used to replace any mounted push and hold activation button. DEI’s momentary Remote Cord Push Button Switch remains “open” until the button is depressed and held to activate.
