ST. PAUL, Minn., (November 1, 2016) – 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division has had a long standing commitment to helping our nation’s veterans. In partnership with the Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF), 3M has donated more than $750,000 since 2013 to be used toward scholarships and tool grants for more than 210 military veterans and their families through the 3M Hire Our Heroes program.

Individuals at the Blairsville, Pa., campus were responsible for designing and building the “Shagadelic Van,” a 2016 Ford Transit van that has been customized to pay tribute to the 1976 “Cruising Van” featured in an iconic 1976 Ford ad. The team also will showcase a souped-up Harley Davidson Chopper.

50 Years Of Automotive Education Inspires Shagadelic Ford Transit Van

WHAT: WyoTech will unveil a customized 2016 Ford Transit van featuring today’s technology but with the look of a 1976 Ford van featured in a decades-old ad. The retro-inspired van, which Ford granted to the WyoTech campus in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, was built by students and instructors to celebrate WyoTech’s 50 years as one of the premier providers of automotive technical training in the United States.

WyoTech will debut the van at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show on Nov. 1. Plus, the restoration will air on MAVTV’s show, “Chop Cut Rebuild,” in January 2017.
