2014 OPTIMA® Ultimate Street Car Invitational Event Includes More Participants at the world famous Las Vegas Motor Speedway

OPTIMA Batteries’ announces its highly-anticipated 2014 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational, now taking place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. For the first time, the OPTIMA Invitational will host a full field of 100 vehicles, most of which earned an invitation based on their performance and owner’s enthusiasm. In addition to traditional method of being invited by OPTIMA Batteries, the 2014 Ultimate Street Car Invitational field is based on the results of its successful national series of OPTIMA Invitational Qualifying events and the corresponding TV series called OPTIMA’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car. The 2014 field is full of proven performers representing a wide range of makes, models and years, including some vehicles that were designed and built specifically to compete in OPTIMA events.

The new, larger location will be more convenient for spectators and will accommodate all 100 vehicle participants, almost double the car count that the famed performance event has hosted previously. OPTIMA’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car championship event will feature the world’s top highly-modified vehicles of all makes and models that compete in a range of performance and design challenges to determine an ultimate winner. An exciting three-day format will kick-off at the close of the SEMA Show on November 7 and conclude on November 9, when fans can watch as the 2014 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car is named.

“We are so excited to give a much bigger group of OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational competitors and spectators a larger facility closer to the SEMA Show,” said Cam Douglass, director of marketing for OPTIMA Batteries. “Now in our seventh year, OPTIMA’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car television and event series just keeps growing in every way. We can’t wait to see what happens this year at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.”

Spectator tickets to the event will be available at the OPTIMA Street Car Alley display at the SEMA Show. More than 70 participating vehicles are showcased between the Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall and the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. Anyone wanting to watch the competition in person can stop by and pick up their tickets at the new home of the Ultimate Street Cars- OPTIMA Street Car Alley!

Last year’s Ultimate Street Car winner, Brian Hobaugh, will be returning to defend his title. His 1965 Corvette coupe will have plenty of challengers to contend with, but there is one in particular he’s keeping an eye on. Multiple-time OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational winner Mark Stielow is unveiling an all-new 1969 Camaro in the OPTIMA booth at the SEMA Show, and he’ll be trying his best to regain the title Hobaugh took from him last year.

The OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational offers something for every motorsports fan, with the BFGoodrich Hot Lap Challenge, Ridetech Street Challenge Autocross, Wilwood Disc Brakes Speed Stop Challenge and the Lingenfelter Performance and Design Challenge all bringing different aspects to each participant’s overall score. It will be broadcast on the MAVTV Network, but to see even more of the action and excitement now, check out video clips from past events on the OPTIMA Batteries YouTube page, visit the OPTIMA Invitational website to see driver profiles and news, or visit the OPTIMA Batteries Facebook page to join the conversation.
