Surf City Garage Takes Its SEMA Booth To The Edge With $12,500 24K Gold Custom Container Of Wax As Exhibit Centerpiece - Also unveils new Enthusiast Grade® Black Edge™ line formulated exclusively for black and dark cars
Las Vegas, November 5, 2013 – Surf City Garage, located at Booth #25175 in the Racing & Performance Section of the 2013 SEMA Show, today announced its new Black Edge line by focusing its entire 50’ x 50’ booth on a $12,500 car wax cited as the line’s inspiration. The most expensive wax ever offered by Surf City Garage, it was named Diablo Negra after the “The Black Raven,” the 1937 Bugatti 57 SC car for which it was created. Diablo Negra served as the inspiration for the entire Black Edge line of detailing products for black and dark cars.
The booth features not only the 24K Gold Custom Container that holds this wax, but also the story behind it, as told by Surf City Garage Founder Tim Miller. The story begins at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with a chance meeting between Tim and Antonio, the Master European Detailer for one of the wealthiest car collectors in the world. The first-person account mysteriously concludes, “I leave it to the reader to decide whether this is truth or fiction.” Visitors to Surf City Garage’s booth will have the opportunity to view Diablo Negra and the entire Black Edge™ line – and then, just as the story promises, to decide for themselves.
Miller explained, “Detroit creates amazing concept cars for us to admire but not buy, and to push the envelope on design, innovation and engineering. In the same way, we created a concept wax inspired by The Black Raven: Diablo Negra. This year at SEMA, we’ve dedicated our entire booth to this wax because it’s this incredible story that inspired the creation of the Black Edge line.”
While few can afford Diablo Negra’s $12,500 price tag, almost every enthusiast and car lover with a black or dark car who buys the Surf City Garage Black Edge line will, Miller noted, “be able to have a little piece of The Black Raven in his or her own garage with Black Edge.”
