OMNI UNITED ACHIEVES NET ZERO CARBON EMISSIONS FOR RADAR TIRES BRAND THROUGHOUT WORLDWIDE OPERATIONS
Omni United, an emerging global leader in the design, sales and manufacturing of tires, announced today that it has been certified as a Carbon Neutral company for its flagship brand, Radar Tires, accomplishing a goal set over two years ago. This achievement is the result of a comprehensive twelve-month effort to measure the company’s Radar Tires brands’ global carbon footprint in accordance with certification standards, coupled with a multi-faceted approach to reach net zero carbon emissions. In addition to its commitment internally to driving sustainable business practices, Omni United has achieved its goal of net zero carbon emissions through supporting hydro energy green projects, spread across China.
"We cannot transform the world alone, but want to be a role model and show that if a small company like ours can invest the time, effort, and resources necessary to make this change, then anyone can,” said G.S. Sareen, President and CEO of Omni United. “This is owed to our children and the generations to come not to continue down the path we have been on.”
Omni United’s global commitment to sustainability is deeply embedded throughout the company, and will continue to be integrated into the company’s day-to-day operations around the globe. Omni United is proud to lead the industry in its Carbon Offset Activities, and plans to continue diversify its green activities in order to generate positive Carbon Credits in the future.
“Adapting this forward-thinking mindset allows us to influence those around us and with this we will continue to urge all to push for this change,” stated Sareen. “If consumers start insisting on buying products that are carbon neutral, then we will all have the responsibility to start working in this direction. Our prices will not increase because of this certification – it’s our contribution, however small it may be, to our home, our planet.”
To achieve Carbon Neutral status, Omni United worked with Ernst & Young to conduct a twelve-month assessment on Radar Tires’ total greenhouse gas emissions between April 2011 and March 2012. Ernst & Young is a multinational professional services firm headquartered in London, United Kingdom. It was the third largest professional services firm in the world by aggregated revenue in 2012 and is one of the "Big Four" accounting firms.
Certification involved a rigorous and independent assessment of greenhouse gas emissions, coupled with an offset-inclusive emissions reduction program.

For every Radar tire sold, Omni United will donate $5 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) with a minimum annual donation of $200,000 and a maximum donation of $250,000. The BCRF is a New York-based non-profit organization that funds clinical and translational research worldwide into finding a cure for breast cancer. For more information, visit www.omni-united.com
