SIGNATURE AUTOMOTIVE TO INTRODUCE GROUNDBREAKING CAMRY FACTORY SUNROOF FOR AFTERMARKET APPLICATION
Signature’s First OE-Based Sunroof to Debut at 2013 SEMA Show
WIXOM, MICHIGAN… Signature Automotive Products, a leading supplier of sunroofs and open-air systems, has announced it will debut its first OE-based sunroof from its Factory Sunroof product lineup at the 2103 SEMA Show. The new Toyota Camry sunroof will be unveiled in the Roadwire exhibit, booth 12317 in the North Hall.
According to company President Dave Gienapp, the Camry sunroof, which has been modified from the OE version for aftermarket installation by Signature, is Signature’s first aftermarket sunroof to incorporate factory-integrated technology. The vehicle-specific unit, designed to fit 2012-2014 Camrys and other larger-roof vehicles, includes the factory mounting system as well as specifically engineered features to ensure faster aftermarket installation. The unit will be available for distribution in the first quarter of 2014.
The base sunroof module is the same sunroof installed in Camrys since 2012 and is manufactured in the U.S. by Toyota’s OE sunroof supplier. All integrated aftermarket components are also sourced in the U.S. Signature’s engineering and operations team has designed the aftermarket unit to ensure the fitment, operation and appearance are as OE-like as possible.
The new sunroof, the first in a future lineup of factory-based sunroofs, incorporates several unique features, including a large solar-tinted glass, a trim ring contoured to the Camry roof line, a two-button switch, integrated OE wind deflector and sunshade, and an integrated front-mounted motor and SCU. The Camry version comes with the OE mounting structure, which can be easily modified for installation in other large-roofed, non-Camry vehicles using a traditional aftermarket mounting system.
“The OE version of this Factory Sunroof Lineup has been installed in more than a million vehicles and is proven in terms of reliability, fitment, appearance and comfort,” said Gienapp. “Made to the OE’s exacting standards, the unit is a premier product that our restylers and their dealer customers can sell with confidence. We are proud to offer this unit to our restylers who will be able to expand their dealer network with this product and then upsell a host of other installation services to achieve greater volumes and superior profit margins.”
Signature Automotive Products is widely recognized as a premier manufacturer of sunroofs and the myTop® convertible for Jeep Wranglers. To view the all-new Camry sunroof, visit the Roadwire exhibit, booth 12317 in the North Hall. For more information, call 248.624.6011.
