Company signs multiple tire/auto service retailers; wholesalers also jumping on board for B2B use

Toronto – Oct 30, 2013

Lift & Shift Inc.’s new multi-currency reward program is resonating with automotive retailers and wholesalers alike. The company bundles together access to a number of popular consumer reward programs, enabling retailers, wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers and service providers to attract and retain retail and B2B customers from a universe of over 150 million members of the participating programs.

Participating programs include American Airlines AAdvantage, Best Buy’s Reward Zone, Holiday Inn’s Priority Club, United Airline’s Mileage Plus and US Airways Dividend Miles, among others – all available through one seamless interface. The company also owns and operates Gift Card Points TM, a unique program that allows customers to earn points they can redeem for a variety of popular retail gift cards. Merchants have the option of accessing the programs using a point of sale system integration or by using Lift & Shift’s free web-based merchant portal.

Lift & Shift’s first wave of retail clients include Louisiana’s Twin Tire, Springdale Automotive in Kentucky, Pennsylvania-based McCarthy Tire and Star Auto Authority, based in Vernon Hills, Illinois. The company has also entered into agreement with Southeastern Wholesale Tire of Raleigh, NC.

“The use of loyalty programs in the United States is at an all-time high”, said Graham Farrell, Founder and President of Lift & Shift Inc., “but auto service & tire retailers have typically been unable to benefit from custom programs as a consumer is very unlikely to take part in a retailer-branded loyalty program in a venue they visit infrequently. Our multi-currency program changes that; retailers can attract program members when they are in market for auto service and/or tires and over 70% are more likely to visit retailers who offer a reward currency they already collect; further, program users spend about 40% more than non-users as they tend to focus category spending with a merchant offering their preferred currency”.

“This program has delivered the largest return on any marketing investment I have made after being in business for 40 years”, said Dennis Richards, owner of Twin Tire in New Orleans. “Not only does offering these popular currencies help retain customers and get them to increase their category spending at our locations but we also see a huge opportunity to acquire thousands of new customers from the program member universes around our locations as they seek to add to their program balances every time they need service or a new set of tires”.

In addition to the multi-currency core of the program, other merchant benefits include:
• Access to program logos and branding for use in retail/B2B ads, marketing & sales communications
• Customizable offer structure; merchants can create offers that reflect margins and other priorities
• Performance-based cost structure; no upfront fees; merchants are invoiced for Miles/Points used each month
• Full staff training, helping participating companies achieve optimal sales results.

“This program is of interest to us as we work to differentiate ourselves in a highly competitive environment”, said Mike Wolfe, owner of Southeastern Wholesale Tire. “The fact is most of the independent tire shop owners and new car dealers we sell to are reward program users – so we see an enormous opportunity to leverage our participation in these programs to secure new accounts and increase sales to all accounts by offering our customers something they already collect and value – popular reward currencies”.
