The Brake Man to Unveil World's Most Rigid Compact Brake Caliper at 2013 SEMA Show
The Brake Man, the innovative designer and manufacturer of made-in-America brake systems and components used by motorsport champions and record breakers, introduces the game-changing Tornado F2 caliper. The surprisingly small racing caliper weighs approximately three pounds and utilizes the company’s patented center bridge design to create the world’s most rigid caliper of its size.
After years of design, development, track testing, and a few trips to the winner’s circle with factory supported drivers through select chassis builders, the Tornado F2 caliper by The Brake Man will be presented to the industry in booth #22830 at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Perfect for SCCA Formula 500, 1000, Continental, Ford, "C" sports racers, and comparable vehicles, the Tornado F2 caliper joins The Brake Man's patented Tornado™ F3, F4, and F5 calipers as truly the strongest racing calipers in the industry, despite similar claims by competitors.
Like all Tornado calipers, the Tornado F2 uses high strength steel center sections in key stress areas to virtually eliminate caliper deflection at temperatures up to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. Forged proprietary aluminum alloy caliper bodies mate to the steel center sections for the ultimate in rigidity and weight savings.
The Brake Man's use of steel center section does not make the caliper heavier, as the high strength of the steel means the caliper is profiled to a minimum overall shape without losing strength or clamping force. This innovation allows The Brake Man to produce an approximately 3 pound caliper that uses the traditional LD20 pad shape and provides incredible clamping force while eliminating drag for freer corner entry, improved lap times, and double-to-triple the pad life. The small yet mighty caliper gives drivers the edge they can use to take and hold the lead with unbeatable, controllable stopping power in and out the corners.
Tornado brake calipers by The Brake Man are available for a wide range of applications through race performance aftermarket dealers and retailers or directly from the company. The Brake Man engineering team has developed inspired and race-proven technology that has revolutionized the industry while setting the standard for high-performance and durability. The Brake Man racing brake systems have been mainstays for championship and event-winning monster trucks, long-distance off-road vehicles, drag racers, as well as dirt and asphalt racecars. The Brake Man provides significantly improved performance, torque output, rigidity, pedal feel, thermal capacity and component life along with a reduced un-sprung weight and often eye-catching designs.
