Bisco Industries Is New Eaton Distributor, Enabling Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance StartLite Hose to Enter Aerospace Market

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. October 29, 2012… Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that Bisco Industries of Anaheim, California, is a new distributor for Eaton’s Aeroquip® Performance StartLite® hose and fittings. Bisco will sell the Eaton hose to defense contactors for combat Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), enabling StartLite hose that has a long history on winning circle track and drag racing vehicles to enter the aerospace market.

Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance StartLite hose joins Bisco’s inventory of electronic components and fasteners used in aerospace, communications, computer, fabrication, industrial equipment, instrumentation, marine and military industries.

“Eaton’s new partnership with Bisco is a milestone achievement that is the result of our ongoing efforts to find new diverse applications and outlets for our products,” said Eaton’s Mike Rasnick, business development manager – Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance. “Like the performance racing market, the aerospace market will give Eaton the opportunity to demonstrate how StartLite hose will function reliably in severe-duty applications by withstanding performance extremes.”

Bisco’s decision to stock Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance hose for RPA was based on StartLite characteristics that make the hose highly sought after by racing teams. The hose offers a lightweight design that makes it 45 percent lighter than stainless steel braided hose; and its flame retardant Nomex* and Kevlar* cover offers superior strength and excellent abrasion resistance, resulting in a 4:1 safety factor. In addition, it offers a +300°F maximum temperature rating and a 350-psi maximum operating pressure.

Also instrumental in Bisco’s decision to partner with Eaton was the fact that Eaton is able to back the engineering, testing and qualification of its Aeroquip Performance products 100 percent by manufacturing its own hose and fittings – the only performance plumbing supplier to do so.

Bisco employs over 450 people at 43 locations in the U.S. and Canada, which offer local service, one-stop shopping and fast delivery.
