STILLWATER, Okla. – KICKER® Performance Audio announces an agreement with Ford Motor Company to bring an extra level of excitement
to Ford Trucks. Customers will now have the option to add world renowned KICKER Performance Audio components as an accessory from
authorized Ford dealers.
Through a collaborative integration between KICKER design engineers and Ford’s Custom Accessories Group, a complete audio system
upgrade was developed. KICKER becomes a Ford Genuine Parts® supplier of vehicle-specific audio system upgrades for Ford F-150
SuperCrew and Super Cab trucks.
Specifically tuned for each F-150 cab, “The KICKER system upgrades are designed to match the Built Ford Tough image of no compromise
performance and impact”, said KICKER Company Founder and President Steve Irby.
“With more than three decades of experience, we realize new truck buyers who are familiar with the name KICKER are accustomed to a
distinctive level of performance, and together with Ford, these system upgrades deliver on the promise,” said Irby.
“The Ford Custom Accessories team is thrilled to offer F-150 customers the KICKER Livin’ Loud® experience,” said Ford Custom Accessories
Truck Program Manager Ron Meredith. “The system upgrade is a completely integrated solution, far superior to the generic ‘box and subs’ that
are available in the market. This is a huge win for our customers.”
Customers will experience deep, powerful bass, accurate “mids and highs” and significantly improved sound from small, convenient spaces,
enhancing overall performance and accuracy system-wide.
“The KICKER and Ford collaboration bring competitive advantages and illustrate the democratization of traditional product development,” said
John Waraniak, vice president, Vehicle Technology for the Specialty Equipment Market Association, SEMA. “Automakers and aftermarket
companies that do not know how to apply collaborative value-chain practices will be beaten by those who do.”
The KICKER Vehicle-Specific Audio System upgrades consist of a rugged 10-inch subwoofer in a tough, custom-molded enclosure made to fit
under the back seat without compromising passenger leg-room, or adding unnecessary weight. The subwoofer is powered by an integrated
200 Watt RMS, high-efficiency digital amplifier that is precisely tuned to specifically match the size of the enclosure.
“Open innovation and connecting vehicles to consumers lifestyles and experiences are driving automakers and aftermarket companies to new
levels of collaboration and profitability,” said Waraniak.
Performance audio with KICKER attitude has been engineered to Ford standards, matched to each specific vehicle environment and backed
by Ford’s factory warranty. When installed at the time of new truck purchase, Ford Genuine Accessories are covered under the 3-year/36,000-
mile Bumper to Bumper New Vehicle Limited Warranty, otherwise warranty coverage is 12 months/12,000 miles (whichever occurs first) or the
remaining portion of the Ford New Vehicle Limited Warranty, whichever is greater.
To complete the system, four 6 x 8” coaxial door speakers replace those installed at the factory and are powered by a 4.1-channel, digitalsignal-
processing (DSP) amplifier (184 Watt RMS). This amp, along with the subwoofer amp connects with the existing Ford audio system
using true connector-to-connector wire harnesses.
Just want to add bass? The 10”, 200 Watt RMS powered subwoofer enclosure is also offered as a stand-alone accessory. Contact your local
Ford Dealer for details.
