Royal Purple Introduces NMMA FC-W® CAT Licensed Marine Oils & 80W-90 Gear Lube
Marine engines are commonly exposed to harsh conditions such as high loads, high speeds, and exposure to elevated levels of humidity and salt water. Boaters looking for the best protection for their engines can now use Royal Purple’s new line of NMMA FC-W Catalyst Compatible® multi-vis 30-weight and 40-weight, four-stroke High Performance Marine (HPM) engine oils.
FC-W Catalyst Compatible® designation is given by the National Marine Manufacturer's Association (NMMA) for oils that have been tested, and have exceeded the performance requirements of bench tests for viscosity, corrosion, filter plugging, foaming and aeration.
FC-W® (CAT) licensed oils must successfully pass a 100-hour general performance engine test. Currently, there are only four marine engine oils that meet this standard including Royal Purple’s multi-vis 30 and 40 weight oils.
In addition to the FC-W® (CAT) marine engine oils, Royal Purple has also introduced their new SAE 80W-90 Gear Lube to the marine product market.
These new products geared towards the marine oil consumer carry the same proven performance and product benefits that Royal Purple brand is synonymous for with their advanced additive lubricant technology, Synerlec®.
The Synerlec® creates an ionic bond that adheres to metal parts to provide continuous protection even at start-up and strengthens the oil to provide unparalleled performance and protection. It provides high film strength that prevents contact between metal parts and improves sealing inside the engine for more complete combustion and dramatically reduced wear. Royal Purple remains on the metal surface long after ordinary lubricants would have been squeezed out by pressure and heat. Over time, the metal surface becomes extremely smooth and can even develop a mirror-like surface.
