Roadwire to Debut World's First Power Convertible Top for Jeep Wrangler at SEMA Show 2011
AUSTIN, TEXAS… The first-ever, power operated convertible top for the iconic Jeep® Wrangler will make its highly anticipated debut in the Roadwire exhibit, booth 12417, at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. According to a recent company announcement, the all-new myTop transforms the Wrangler into an open-air adventure with a simple push of a button.
Hand-crafted in the U.S., myTop incorporates an array of top-quality features, including Haartz Stayfast® fabric, a sturdy, but light-weight aircraft-grade aluminum frame, as well as motors constructed to the same specifications as F-14 fighter jet canopies. In addition to windows that are twice the thickness required by DOT, Roadwire utilizes only the finest hardware available: grade 8 bolts, case-hardened nuts and washers, self-lubricating bronze bushings, and powder-coated gears.
“MyTop is a revolutionary design,” said Dave Edmondson, V.P. of Roadwire, a leading supplier of custom leather interiors and other accessories. “By combining the resources of our affiliate companies, Signature Sunroofs, Classic Soft Trim and Distinctive Industries, we’ve crafted an innovative product that’s unlike any other Jeep® soft top on the market today.”
Designed to fit all 2-door Wrangler JK models from 2007 – 2012, myTop will be launched initially in Los Angeles and Austin, Texas, with nationwide rollout slated for year’s end. Roadwire authorized installers will be trained and certified on installation procedures. Once trained, installation should take approximately two hours.
To highlight the myTop launch, Edmondson said two models will be featured in the Roadwire booth and another in DUB magazine’s display in front of the South Hall. “We’re very excited to introduce myTop at the SEMA Show, and anticipate it will generate considerable interest among Jeep® dealers, restylers, and truck-accessory retailers. For a sneak peak of the 4-door version, currently under development, we invite attendees to visit our exhibit, booth 12417.”
