LumiPortal, a cloud-based product that allows for complete syncronization across PC, Apple, Android and other mobile devices, will be demonstrated at SEMA Show 2011.

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIF. (Oct. 11, 2011) -- Luminys, Inc., a technology company providing secure cloud-based services and personalized support, has announced LumiPortal, a cloud-based product that allows access to documents, emails, calendars and contacts from anywhere, now allows users to securely sync across mobile and computer devices.

The upgrade, which is especially critical to business users who often work from several different computers or devices, loosing efficiency for mobility, works across all Apple and Android platforms, as well as with PC’s and other mobile devices.

Luminys will launch the upgrade and demonstrate how synchronization works on several on these platforms at the Specialty Equipment Market Association’s (SEMA) 2011 show, held in Las Vegas from Nov. 1-4.  Luminys will be providing free network assessments and free trials to participants.

“Everyone, from CEO's to product manufacturing, is using mobile devices to sync schedules, obtain contacts and access documents, such as CAD files, email and spreadsheets, that are needed for operations and production,” said Mark Raymond, CEO of Luminys.  “This information is usually stored in centralized networks that can be accessed through the devices, but that doesn’t sync changes made on one device to another. We have eliminated this redundancy and allow for ubiquitous connectivity among all network devices.”

LumiPortal differentiates itself from other cloud-based systems through its platform, which is specifically geared toward enterprise and eliminates the complexities of maintenance. Users also receive one-on-one technical support and a level of service that is geared specifically for businesses, not consumer driven like the larger cloud-based products available today.

LumiPortal users can also share large Computer Aided Design (CAD) files or images without clogging email or using a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site.  Since the system is cloud-based, businesses cut down on new hardware and server costs, as well the expense of hiring network administrators or IT consultants.

Furthermore, LumiPortal is secure. The company allows its customers to host their information under their own corporate domains, ensuring their intellectual property and protecting it with 2048-bit encryption. Luminys also backs up its own servers on a daily and weekly basis -- avoiding massive loss of information such as recently experienced by free services.

“Business users need more. They should feel confident they can pick up the phone and resolve IT issues immediately with qualified experts, not some service representative. They should feel confident they have melded their IT system to their business processes, not the other way around. And they should feel their information is safe,” said Raymond. “That’s the kind of service LumiPortal provides.”
