Mobile Electronics: Interior and Trim Panel Fabrication Techniques, Powered by Professional Restylers Organization (PRO)
When:
October 30, 2012 - 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Where:
Las Vegas Convention Center, N257 Presented by: Bryan Schmitt, Mobile Solutions USA
Installing a great audio system, performance gauges, interior lighting or other electronic accessories can only be great if the interior panels and surfaces look as if the things you install really belong there. While upgrading the outside appearance of a vehicle has been refined to a beautiful and highly skilled art form, the interior trim panels, particularly with the plastics and composite materials found in today’s newer vehicles, is often an afterthought by comparison. How do you get that interior to look great without looking like the installation is an afterthought?
This exciting session will demonstrate some of the latest, cutting-edge fabrication techniques that are ideally applied in any modern vehicle that must modify dash, door, or other interior panels to accommodate aftermarket electronics in a way that should blend with modern interiors. Whether it’s installing a speaker to look like it belongs with the interior theme, modernized interior lighting hidden in the panels themselves or creating gauges and switch mounting that provides ergonomic continuity, this session will open your eyes to how the pros do it and get those one-off results even using repeatable (production like) techniques. No sewing machines or staple guns needed!
