Restyling & Car Care Accessories

Correction to: Drag racer Holly Clarke signs on with Torklift International

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Champion Drag Racer Holly Clarke is attending SEMA with her newest sponsor Torklift International.
On Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m. Clarke is available for interview during her press conference located in Media Center N110.
Clarke caught the racing bug at an early age.
“My first race, I was 8 years old,” she said. “I was up at about four or five in the morning in my parents room trying to wake my dad because I couldn’t control my excitement. I was the slowest car and I was out first round but I hardly cared. I had waited for what felt like forever I was just thrilled to go down the track.”
Twelve years later, the British Columbia native has several championships under her belt including six annual championships in a row.
Clarke races a 1968 Chevy Nova with a 468 big block engine. Her fastest documented time in the dragster is 10.15 seconds but the chassis is certified at 8.5 seconds for a quarter mile.

Crank your stereo and lights all night long

SUMNER, Wash., — Torklift International released a product allowing customers to have spare battery power whether they want to run their speakers all night or they need to run their lights for some after hours work.
The HiddenPower is a battery mount that attaches underneath the truck body in order to house a spare battery. The battery is tied into the vehicle’s charging system to ensure the driver has a fully charged spare battery at all times.
“Auxiliary batteries were a huge add-on in truck accessory shops in the 60s, 70s and 80s back when it was easy to place an extra battery under the hood of your truck,” said Torklift International VP of Operations Jack Kay. “But as technology expanded for vehicles, more factory-installed products were placed under the hood of the truck resulting in less and less space. Now, there is no space under the hood. The space for the extra battery went away, but the need for the extra battery didn’t go away.”

Torklift International releases Hero hitch

SUMNER Wash., — Torklift International now makes the strongest receiver hitch available for half-ton trucks.
The SuperHitch Hero is rated at 1,500 pounds tongue weight and 15,000 pounds pull when used with weight distribution.
“It’s a dual receiver system which means a couple things,” said Torklift International General Manager Jay Taylor. “It can be used with a dual extension and allows customers to haul in the top receiver and tow in the bottom receiver at the same time.”
Most applications do not require drilling because they attach to the truck frame using pre-drilled holes done at the factory. There are fits for Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge and Toyota.
