Duarte, CA: In 2010 the EPA allowed gasoline manufacturers to blend 15% Ethanol (E15) into gas to be used by late model cars. Ethanol is basically a mixture of Ethyl and Alcohol. The main problem with this type of blended gasoline is that the Ethanol mixture will separate from the gasoline over time, causing a moisture buildup (water) in the fuel tank. The presence of water can result in corrosion, resin/gum buildup, hard starting, reduced performance and possibly internal engine damage.
