COMP Cams Melonized Distributor Gears

Memphis, TN – New distributor gears from COMP Cams® provide the universal compatibility often associated with bronze gears for use with any steel, cast iron or ductile iron camshaft, but without the wear concerns.

COMP Cams® Melonized Distributor Gears are designed to work with Big and Small Block Chevy, Ford 302 and Ford 351W applications. The melonizing nitriding process was originally developed by OEMs, including GM and Ford. As opposed to bronze gears, melonized versions are less wear-prone and feature better timing accuracy and higher strength than any other universally compatible distributor gear option. The greater wear resistance and higher precision of COMP Cams® Melonized Gears also provide less spark scatter (more accurate timing) than is possible with a bronze gear.

COMP Cams® has taken everything it learned from extensive testing and customer feedback from adjustable cam systems to provide a totally new redesign for its Ford 2V/4V Modular Adjustable Timing Set. The set boasts robust adjustment clamping without concern for loosening, along with a bulletproof SAE 4340 design featuring wear-resistant plasma nitride gear hardening on the gear teeth. Meanwhile, a perfect cam sensor signal is trigger-tested to over 10,000 RPM and is compatible with any OEM or aftermarket engine control system. An all-new Allen wrench adjustment design allows for precise adjustment (+/- 6 degrees) to advance and retard on each bank. The result is that adjustability for Ford Modular cams is now totally trouble-free.

COMP Cams® is setting trends in racing once again with the release of its new Dual Conical Valve Springs. This progressive-frequency design (decreasing diameter from bottom to top) provides far better valve control than can be achieved with a conventional valve spring assembly, and it does so using lower loads due to a lower dynamic mass. Because the top coils are far lighter in a conical spring, less force is needed to control it. The result is better control, less deflection and fewer parasitic horsepower losses, thereby netting more power.

PANOZ DEBUTS 2015 ESPERANTE SPYDER GT AT THE SEMA SHOW

Nov. 4, 2014, Hoschton, Ga. – Just a few months after Panoz LLC rolled out the first 25th Anniversary Edition Esperante Spyder, the Georgia-based manufacturer of exclusive sports cars today unveiled its supercharged 560-horsepower Spyder GT version at the 2014 Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

Panoz LLC will produce no more than 25 Esperante Spyder and Spyder GT sports cars to commemorate the company’s motorsports heritage and Panoz sports cars of the past 25 years. Production will be intentionally limited to ensure they remain special and exclusive and keep with Panoz LLC’s goal of creating exclusive, American-made, custom hand-built sports cars.

This ‘under-car’ catalytic converter (#324221-Driver Side & #324222-Passenger Side), a direct replacement for the original equipment unit, has heat shields for the catalytic converter and provisions for the O2 sensors.
