Automotive Body Parts Association Calls on AAPEX/SEMA Attendees to Join Quality Parts Coalition

Las Vegas, NV - October 29, 2012 - The Automotive Body Parts Association (ABPA) encourages this year’s attendees of the AAPEX/SEMA Shows to become members of the Quality Parts Coalition (QPC). Representing the interests of all industry segments of the automotive collision repair industry, the QPC seeks to secure a permanent legislative change to the U.S. design patent law to preserve competition and to ensure the availability of quality alternative collision repair parts for consumers.

QPC Highlights Momentum in Global Effort to Preserve Competition in Automotive Aftermarket

Las Vegas, NV – October 31, 2012 – This year, the Quality Parts Coalition (QPC) gained significant movement on its mission to preserve competition in the automotive replacement parts industry through the introduction of legislation in Congress. Achievements made by the QPC are part of the collective global effort to ensure free competition in the collision parts industry. QPC’s sister organization, the European Campaign for the Freedom of the Automotive Parts and Repair Market (ECAR), has in turn made progress this year working toward the same mission.

Additionally, the total yearly estimated economic loss in the state resulting from traffic crashes is $1.8 billion, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation. The Quality Parts Coalition urges attendees at this year’s AAPEX/SEMA conferences in Las Vegas to stand behind a bill in Congress to ensure the preservation of competition in the automotive parts industry.
