Twinsburg, Ohio – CTEK Power, Inc. has released the first two in a series of 10 educational articles on battery technology for consumers. The series is designed to help take the mystery out of batteries, battery chargers and battery maintenance.
The first article, “Why Do Vehicles Have Batteries?,” helps consumers understand all the functions that a battery performs. The second article answers the question: “How Do Batteries Work?” The third article will talk about “Different Types of Batteries.”
“Until they are stranded with a malfunctioning battery, many consumers do not realize how critical batteries are to the electrical system in their vehicle,” explained Matt Ingram, regional sales manager for CTEK. “Part of our objective in publishing these articles is to help drivers understand the advantages of using a state-of-the art battery charger and maintainer like the units that CTEK manufactures and how it can extend the life of their battery and help keep them on the road.”

Twinsburg, Ohio – CTEK Power, Inc. has announced the appointment of Bobbie DuMelle as the company’s new executive vice president of sales. Most recently, DuMelle was vice president of sales and marketing for Schumacher Electric. She will report to Andreas Naeslund, president of Americas for CTEK.
DuMelle is responsible for overseeing CTEK’s sales team in North and South America and helping the company grow into new market segments. DuMelle brings a strong background to CTEK in leading sales, marketing and service teams in the automotive industry. She also has valuable experience in supply chain management. In addition to working at Schumacher Electric for eight years, DuMelle has experience running her own company, DuMelle & Associates and in sales and marketing for General Cable Corporation.
Twinsburg, Ohio – Roger Parker, an experienced automotive business manager, has joined CTEK Power, Inc. as the company’s logistics coordinator and inside sales representative. Most recently, Parker was general sales manager for Fitzgerald Automotive Group and spent four years as the park services director at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
In his new role at CTEK, Parker will help lead technical support for the company. He will also be responsible for order fulfillment, customer service, inventory planning and marketing support for CTEK’s sales team.
“Roger’s exceptional interpersonal skills combined with his automotive experience, including his time as an ASE certified automotive technician, provides CTEK with a strong technical support background that will benefit our customers,” said Andreas Naeslund, president of Americas for CTEK.

Twinsburg, Ohio – CTEK Power, Inc. has renewed its sponsorship of Valerie Thompson Racing for the 2014 season. Owner and driver Valerie Thompson is a six-time land speed record holder and one of America’s fastest females on two-wheels.
Riding the CTEK-sponsored BMW 1000 RR, Thompson shattered the East Coast Timing Association (ECTA) one-mile record in the MPS/Modified Class during the recent Ohio Mile competition in Wilmington, Ohio. Thompson clocked in at 208.7 mph, easily breaking the former record of 205 mph. Thompson’s new record also qualified her for membership in the exclusive ECTA 200 MPH Club while claiming bragging rights as the fastest RR in the MPS/F-1000 Class.
“It is a great honor and achievement to be the newest member of the ECTA’s 200 MPH Club, especially since I am only the third female of less than 100 members,” said Thompson. “I’m proud to represent CTEK throughout the 2014 campaign and we thank them for once again being one of our valued sponsors.”

UT Austin School of Engineering Assesses Performance Benefits of PTP Turbo Blankets' Automotive Turbocharger Heat Management System
The University of Texas at Austin recently took up the project of scientifically evaluating the performance benefits of the turbocharger insulation product made by Austin-based PTP Turbo Blankets. The analysis was performed by Graduate Research Assistant Steffen Bickle, and was approved by the Head of UT Austin’s Engines and Automotive Research Program at UT’s Cockrell School of Engineering, Dr. Ronald Matthews. The analysis they performed provides PTP with an unbiased assessment of their products by one of the top automotive research and testing facilities among American universities. The report, Performance Improvements of Turbocharged Engines with the Use of a PTP Turbo Blanket, focused on PTP’s current line of turbo blankets. The analysis by UT Austin was initiated in 2013.
