Featured Show Section Gets Ready to Impress Hot rods and custom cars are part of the foundation of the automotive specialty equipment industry. As a niche market it remains highly visible within the industry and among general consumers as well. Events across the country draw millions of enthusiasts to celebrate hot rodding. It is all about friendly people gathering to share their passion for customization.
The SEMA Show Hot Rod Alley enjoys a similar feeling as buyers, media and other attendees visit the over 200 booths in the Show’s Center Hall. Hot Rod Alley is surrounded by the largest section of the show, Racing and Performance, and positioned near Restoration Marketplace. The section has grown from last year as more and more enthusiasts are valuing the craftsmanship and imagination presented by the many custom-designed feature vehicles. Hot Rod Alley may be the most creative and artistic section of the show and is all about modification and customization. The Hot Rod market includes all products and services used in the construction, maintenance and operation of hot rods and customs. This includes: custom and specialty parts, tires and accessories for hot rods such as: bodies, chassis parts, gauges, aluminum radiators, wiring kits and more. Hot Rods are typically defined as highly modified vehicles used for street travel and show competitions based on body types originally manufactured from 1920 to 1940. Customs are vehicles from 1949 through the late 1960s which have been modified for the same purposes. Legendary hot rod builders will have their work represented in this section as featured vehicles and new products suited to this important niche will be present throughout the exhibit. HRIA, The Hot Rod Industry Alliance (formerly SRMA, The Street Rod Marketing Alliance) is dedicated to addressing the challenges facing their segment of the automotive aftermarket and to preserving and promoting the hot rod industry. HRIA's primary objectives are to ensure the future prosperity of the hot rod industry and to advance and promote awareness of the hobby. Within this context, HRIA focuses on industry-specific issues, developing effective strategies and programs that will assist members in improving their business practices and procedures. HRIA also includes a legal department to address those legislative and/or regulatory matters which may affect the hot rodding industry, and provides a forum – by participation in the Hot Rod Alley show section – in which member companies can take advantage of new business and marketing opportunities. The Hot Rod section of the SEMA Show will provide today’s business leaders and employees with the same education and training opportunities in the automotive aftermarket industry that SEMA provides throughout the year. These educational tools include: technical seminars, workshops, certification programs and hands-on demonstrations. A complete list of hot rod seminars, locations and activities is available at www.SEMAshow.com. |
